xplain the precautions you would take when using the technology yourself and when advising the organization about how to use the technology.

Over the past 20 years, there have been significant technological advances which affect our everyday lives. These advances extend to various fields of professional practice including I/O psychology. Professionals in I/O psychology adapt to changing technologies as with any new tool that may shape their profession. Using technology as an instrument to deliver services, implement interventions, conduct research, and assess and/or evaluate personnel, may pose unique ethical and legal challenges and unintentionally influence how ethical codes and guidelines are applied. For this Assignment, you will identify a technology (other than social media) that poses ethical and legal challenges to I/O psychology practitioners, apply ethical standards and laws to the challenges, and explore precautions that you would take when using the technology in an organization. To prepare for this Assignment: Read Chapter 18 in the APA Handbook of Ethics in Psychology, Chapter 4 in The Ethical Practice of Consulting Psychology, and the articles about technologies other than social media. Consider the ethical and legal issues related to using technologies such as the Internet, mobile devices, videoconferencing, artificial intelligence, and employee monitoring programs. Select one technology to focus on for this assignment. The technology could be one that was mentioned in the readings (other than social media) or one that you found on your own. Identify the ethical and legal issues related to using the technology in organizational or research settings. In addition, consider necessary precautions you would take when using the technology yourself or advising the organization on how to use the technology. By Day 7 Write a 2- to 3-page paper which includes the following: Identify a technology (other than social media) that poses ethical and/or legal challenges to I/O psychology practitioners. Describe the ethical and/or legal challenges the technology poses. Include ethical standards and/or laws that might be violated by using the technology. Explain the precautions you would take when using the technology yourself and when advising the organization about how to use the technology. Be sure to support your paper with specific references to the Learning Resources as well as additional peer-reviewed, scholarly resources.
