Begin a Toulmin Analysis in 2-3 pages. Choose to discuss a major claim (Fact, Value or Policy) and a supporting rhetorical device (found from your vocabulary list) and find examples from Born a Crime. Provide MLA parenthetical citations, a brief analytical discussion of each example. Provide a Work Cited at the end of your text. I always say that you will be writing to a kid from Mars. This means that they know nothing unless you explain: Who is Trevor Noah, what is Born a Crime, what is Hyperbole, etc., etc. We also dont know your thoughts that go toward your analysis unless you explain in clear detail. Remember that, essentially, an analysis answers 3 primary questions: Whats going on in the text under scrutiny? How is it going on? For what purpose is that thing going on?
