It is evident that the juvenile justice system was designed to protect children’s interest and afford an opportunity for rehabilitation. Yet there are certain crimes due to their harmful nature challenge the society’s perspective concerning one’s ability to change. Sex offenses are deemed such a crime. Yet the reality is that juvenile sex offenders offer areas of consideration that adult offenders may not be granted in the court of public opinion due to their maturation and familial circumstances.
